Herb and Butter Black Rice


 Cook the black rice with water to cover. Simmer just until it becomes chewy.  Don´t overcook the rice, it will split and lose all it´s flavor.











Ingredients:

1 1/2 Cups Steamed Organic Black Rice
16 oz. water
1 can olives
1 package mushrooms
2 Tbs. Dried Parsley
1/4 cup fresh sage
1/4 cup fresh rosemary
1/8 cup fresh thyme
salt
pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup butter

When rice is done cooking, remove from heat and add the dried spices
first, then salt and pepper to taste. Stir in the remaining ingredients and mix well so that the butter melts and flavors the rice perfectly.

I love serving this topped with heavy cream or a cream gravy and ham.
