Gathering the Ingredients |
To me Brats taste like the perfect big breakfast sausage. They are really good! I had bought some +Arrowhead Mills Organic Buckwheat Pancake Mix from
+Sprouts Farmers Market. So since the Brats reminded me of pancakes with sausage, maple syrup and butter, I thought, "Why not bake a cake and stuff it with sausages, maple flavoring and Stevia to sweeten?"

Ingredients:
- 6 Eggs
- 3 - 4 Cups Half & Half
- 9 Cooked +Johnsonville Brat Sausages - Chopped in Half.
- 2 Sticks Melted Butter plus a little extra for greasing the pan
- 1 - 26 Ounce Package Arrowhead Mills Organic Buckwheat Pancake Mix (retain a small amount for dusting your pan)
- 20 Mini-Scoops +Trader Joe's 100% Organic Stevia Powder
- 2 Tbs. Maple Syrup Flavoring
- Butter and Honey or REAL Maple Syrup to top

Butter the pan well, then dust with flour. |
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.

Melt your butter and be sure to let it cool before adding to the mixture.

Brats in a Pan |
Chop the Brats in half and stand up in your well buttered and dusted pan. Always be sure to keep your wet ingredients separate from the dry ingredients until you are ready to start cooking with your pancake batter.

Have the Half & Half ready to pour in quickly.
|
Always stir pancake batter gently and just until moistened. Add just enough Half & Half to make a thick pourable batter. Work quickly and get it cooking ASAP.

Pour Batter Gently Around Brats and Over the top too for a crispy coating. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

They turned out great smothered with butter and honey. You could also drizzle real maple syrup on top as well. I love Buckwheat!

Mouthwatering Slice of Buckwheat Maple Cake With Butter and Honey |
Slice the whole cake up into squares and wrap each one in wax paper. Put them in a individual plastic baggies and pop them in the freezer. Just grab one out for a quick and easy breakfast. Warm in the microwave for a few minutes and top with butter and Real Maple Syrup or Raw Honey.
