Chef Salad Layered Surprise

Gathering the Ingredients for the BEST Salad EVER!

A Large Stainless Steel Bowl
Sometimes it's really hard to choose what type of salad to make.  A chef salad is good if you need a lot of protein.  I love my veggies, so here is a take on a Chef Salad with a layer of pickled veggies underneath for a great surprise!

Ingredients:
  • Cucumber
  • Bell Peppers
  • Coleslaw
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Olive Oil
  • Spices - Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder
  • Iceberg Lettuce
  • Avocado
  • Mixed Baby Greens
  • Tomatoes
  • Boiled Eggs
  • Julienne Cheese, Ham and Turkey
  • Bleu Cheese Dressing

Sliced Persian Cucumbers and Baby Bell Peppers
Start off with a large preferably chilled stainless steel bowl.

Shredded Cabbage Coleslaw

You can make the bottom pickled layers a few hours ahead of the rest of the salad to allow the spices, vinegar and oil to marinate into the cucumber, bell peppers and cabbage coleslaw.
Iceberg Lettuce and Avocado

Baby Greens and Sliced Tomatoes

Boiled Eggs, Turkey, Ham and Bleu Cheese Dressing

Once you have added the coleslaw, sprinkle the spices, drizzle the olive oil and splash the vinegar over the top.

Tear the iceberg lettuce and rinse well in chilled water.  Drain well and add on top of the coleslaw.  Slice cold avocado over the iceberg lettuce.  You can sprinkle a little salt or even cayenne pepper on the avocados for a little extra spiciness.

Spread the Baby Greens over the avocado, and then lots of sliced tomatoes.

Next, for the Grand Finale!  Slice boiled eggs in half and arrange nicely in a circular pattern.  Sprinkle the Julienne Cheese, Ham and Turkey all around.  And for
the Pièce de résistance, My Bleu
Cheese Dressing which contains
a whole container of sour cream,
good quality bleu cheese, garlic
powder, salt and big hunks of
pepper.
